What is SegWit?

The Standard Transaction Shown Spends a P2PKH Input, and the SegWit Transaction Spends a P2WPKH Input.
This “Filtered” SegWit Transaction is the Version sent to Legacy (SegWit-Unaware) Nodes. To Legacy Nodes, SegWit Transactions Appear to Spend “Anyone can Spend” Inputs.
The Base Block is the Block that Legacy Nodes Validate. The SegWit Block Weight Rule Ensures that this Base Block is Never Larger than 1 MB.
