SingularityNET Releases Updated Roadmap for H1 2020

0 2

The next set of core milestones for SingularityNET’s rapidly advancing decentralized AI network.

The SingularityNET Beta platform was released almost eleven months ago and since that initial public release, our team has been blessed with insatiable curiosity from the community regarding the next steps that will take us closer to a fully featured and mature decentralized AI marketplace capable of obsoleting the Big Tech oligopoly and fostering the emergence of beneficial general intelligence.

To satisfy this curiosity at least partially, we give here a moderately detailed roadmap covering some of the more major improvements and extensions planned for the first half of 2020.

Recent Advances

In Beta V2 and the subsequent release of BV3, we moved away from the old test UI onto a new more user-friendly UI environment.

We also introduced a new account-based system into the market and are offering free trial access to all account holders for our AI services. Choosing an AI for your project from the market should not be painful, so we encourage you to test out the AI first and see what is needed first.

We then launched the first portion of our envisioned bidirectional fiat-to-crypto gateway by integrating Paypal into our platform. By doing this we opened up the market potential enormously, enabling access to AI services on our marketplace using fiat currency as well as AGI tokens (though even when end-user interaction involved fiat, the fiat is internally converted to crypto and the AGI token is the key-value propagation tool on the back end).

As well we have recently delivered a Software Development Kit (SDK), a daemon for request streams, and the greatly anticipated Request for AI Portal (RFAI).

Where are we now?

It is incredibly rewarding to see the amount of excitement about our new features, the dozens of agents now live on the network and the overall platform. We have by now substantially delivered on what, at the time of project inception in 2017, seemed to many to be just a distant dream. But we are not resting yet.

The warm welcome that the Beta has received is a solid indication that our product has remained faithful to our vision and continues to bring our vision closer to reality. But the next steps are in some ways the most critical ones: Getting substantial traction for the platform from third-party AI developers and users. In this phase, the Foundation’s own AI tools, deployed on the platform, will continue to play a critical role, and will be expanded in capability and intelligence — but will contribute largely via being accessed on the back end by third-party AI services.

In this post, we outline the roadmap for the SingularityNET platform Beta development for the first half of 2020 — a series of critical steps oriented largely toward making the platform easier to use for a variety of AI algorithm, model, product and service developers, and thus paving the way for a dramatic increase of traction in 2020 and onwards. All the work described here will be open-sourced, available for viewing and community development on SingularityNET’s GitHub Repo.

And a few more things…

In addition to the above platform enhancements, aimed at easing the process of onboarding new AI developers and consumers to the platform, there is plenty more planned for 2020, in the first half and beyond. Future posts will give more depth on additional emerging developments such as:

Conclusion

SingularityNET’s vision for a decentralized ecosystem of symbiotic AI agents is an extremely complex project to achieve. However, it is important to note where we stand today: the vision has materialized in the form of a functional Beta platform and each component is quickly falling into place.

Better yet, missing components are already defined, updated with the insight of our community, independently developed by an array of developers, and signalled by order of implementation. While the Beta platform is already delivering much of the core ingredients outlined in our whitepaper, it is clear that there is still a great deal of work left to do. Current and upcoming developments herald a surge of an overarching network that will serve anyone who wishes to incorporate AI in any form of human activity. Whether you are an individual, a small business, or a large corporation, the SingularityNET platform is now ready to foster your boldest requests.

Your feedback is critical to our success. So until we reach the fourth step of our roadmap and create a repository for platform improvement proposals, we invite you to chat with the team or community about every feature and service on our Community Forum or on Telegram.

SingularityNET plans to reinforce and expand its collaborations to shape the coming AI Singularity into a positive one, for all. To read more about our recent news click here.

And If you have an idea for AI tools or services you’d like to see appear on the platform, you can request them on the Request for AI Portal.
