Anyone here use Helium Hotspots?

Hey guys, just found out about these helium hot spots, and they seem pretty neat. Was talking to some people in the BAN-mining(folding at home) discord channel and someone said they have 3 of them and are making about 6-10 HNT off of each in a day(also in a big city).

Wondering if anyone else has messed with these and if they seem like a viable option for a bit of passive income.

This one is selling for 350: [https://www.calchipconnect.com/products/rak-hotspot-miner](https://www.calchipconnect.com/products/rak-hotspot-miner)

And this one is being given out for free, BUT they set it up and take 80% commission on all the HNT “mined”. [https://emrit.io/](https://emrit.io/)

Anyone have experience with either of these?

What are your PPD(payout per day) with these things?

You can check out the helium hotspot map [here](https://explorer.helium.com/coverage) , and it seems A LOT of people are doing this. So is it worth it?

Also is it possible to just like reset the one that is free and set it back up to where they arent taking that 80% commission?

I put mining/staking as the flair, because that is what Helium is calling this method.

  1. Interesting idea. I’ll have to read into it more just so over it. If I understand correctly, this is using blockchain to source public wifi to end users? Is that correct?
