Bad Bunny Embraces Spanish Singing, Ventures into English for Intimate Connections

Puerto Rican sensation, Bad Bunny, is sharing insights into his choice of singing primarily in Spanish, while also divulging his efforts to communicate in English with select individuals.

The 29-year-old, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, revealed in a recent Vanity Fair interview, published on September 12, that he is actively honing his English language skills through conversation.

Martínez explained, “With some people, I speak English—with some specific people. With one of them, I couldn’t talk to her before.”

The rapper did not specify who he was referring to. He also neither confirmed nor denied reports linking him romantically to model Kendall Jenner, despite their numerous public outings together during the summer, some of which fueled rumors that Jenner was the muse for some of Martínez’s recent lyrics.

While Martínez is not opposed to the idea of singing in English, he expressed that it is not his preference. He stated, “It’s not like I hate the idea… It’s just that I feel more comfortable in my own language. I think in Spanish, I feel in Spanish, I eat in Spanish, I sing in Spanish.”

Martínez emphasized that he would not transition to English merely due to external pressure, asserting, “I am never going to do it just because someone says I need to do it to reach a certain audience.”

Regarding his personal life, Martínez explained that he does not feel obligated to provide clarifications to his fan base about his experiences. He asserted, “They don’t know how you feel, they don’t know how you live, they don’t know anything, and I really don’t want them to know. I’m not really interested in clarifying anything because I have no commitment to clarify anything to anyone.”

Martínez concluded by expressing his intention to find the ideal location in Puerto Rico to construct his dream home, indicating his hope to reside on the Caribbean island indefinitely.
