Best Day to DCA? What’s your strategy for getting the most bang for your buck?

Obviously the point of using a DCA strategy is the minimize the effect of volatility on your investing. That being said, there do seem to be some weekly trends and couldn’t really find anyone discussing whether the day of the week has much impact. Some people also bring up the valid point that a lump sum investment (LSI) is better suited for bull markets and DCA for bear markets.

[Based on my own bare-bones number crunching using this link, I decided to settle on weekly automatic recurring buy orders on Sundays.](https://www.costavg.com/) I basically plugged in a variety of start dates starting around 6 months versus 1 year ago, and Sunday seemed to have the lowest average cost basis and coin accumulation (weekly investment with 50% on BTC, 30% on ETH, and 20% on random alts).

What was the rationale behind your specific strategy?

  1. I also did some research to find the most optimal time period to DCA. Using historical data I found every 19 days bring the most optimal time period to DCA. I also have a post about it if anyone is interested

  2. I have a weird strategy for dca , usually beginning of the week I will set buy order for drops of 5% for BTC and ETH and 10% for alts like uni and xlm. If the limits get hit then thats my dca for the week, if not I will just do a normal dca on sunday. I will reset again everything on monday.
