Sorry, but calling 0.000001 BTC a “Bit”, but then calling for example 1000 BTC a Kilobit just rubs me the wrong way.

Either you have to call 0.000001 BTC something else, or Kilobit would have to be 0.000001 * 1000, i.e. 0.001 BTC.

The same for the Milli/Centi/Deci values. Millibit/Centibit/Decibit should be smaller than “Bit”, not larger.

So it either would have to be a different name for “Bit”, or a different suffix for all the Milli/Centi/Deci/Deca/Hecto/Kilo/Mega denominations.

2. dlq84 says:

It’s a bit confusing that a bit is 0.000001 while a milli|centi|decibit is bigger… And that a kilobit is not 1000 x bit. Let’s just use the SI prefixes and Sat or BTC as suffix. No need to invent and misuse existing prefixes.

Makes very little sense. Very confusing. Not consistent.

No thanks.

4. KitsuneMori says:

Either use this scale (₿):

* nanobit (n₿) = 0.000,000,001 BTC
* microbit (μ₿) = 0.000,001 BTC
* millibit (m₿) = 0.001 BTC
* centibit (c₿) = 0.01 BTC
* decibit (d₿) = 0.1 BTC
* bit (₿) = 1 BTC
* decabit (da₿) = 10 BTC

Or use this scale ([⩧](https://satsymbol.com/)):

* sat (⩧) = 0.000,000,01 BTC
* decasat (da⩧) = 0.000,000,1 BTC
* hectosat (h⩧) = 0.000,001 BTC
* kilosat (k⩧) = 0.000,01 BTC
* megasat (M⩧) = 0.01 BTC
* gigasat (G⩧) = 10 BTC

A bit should be 1000 millibit
a kilobit should be 1000 bit

Plz keep prefixes everyone on earth use,
Don’t make it imperial or confusing stuff

Some more friendly name suggestions:

Satoshi = 0.00000001

Mike = 0.000001

Milly = 0.001

Cindy = 0.01

Daisy = 0.1

Bitcoin = 1

Dick = 10

Hector = 100

Kilo = 1000

Megan = 1000000

Cool I like it!

One day maybe I’ll have a Decabit! But at current appreciation rates thats looking more and more unlikely.

8. SoYeEuYuSiUm says:

Bitcoin and blockchain is confusing enough for normies, now you want them to memorise different term?

9. SuperSonic6 says:

Satoshi and bitcoin. Those are the only two that matter.

10. skunktrain says:

Centibits represent!

11. InvestWise89 says:

Quite a difference whether you own an **MBTC** or an **mBTC**

12. Samael_Le_Doge says:

1 Doge = 1 Doge

13. jcoinner says:

Woohoo. My internet is 50 Megabits per second. I’m gonna be so rich!

14. NewtParrotDime says:

!lntip 1000

15. SatoshiYokohama says:

Only Satoshi, Bit and Bitcoin are relevant in my opinion. Three is enough. “A thousand satoshi” or “a hundred bits” are understandable enough.

16. Crypt0JAy says:

I love it !

17. NioPio says:

Why cant we go smaller than Satoshi? Think about it, in 1-2 years 1 Sat will have more value than 1 dollar. Will be difficult to enter the ride for small people.
