Actor Brian Austin Green has opened up about his battle with ulcerative colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that affects the colon and rectum.
Green, who is best known for his roles in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “Desperate Housewives,” told People magazine that he was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2019. He said that the disease has been a challenge to deal with, but that he is managing it with medication and diet.
“It’s been a tough road,” Green said. “I’ve had to make some big changes in my life, but I’m grateful to be doing better.”
Green said that one of the hardest things about living with ulcerative colitis is the uncertainty. He said that he never knows when he’s going to have a flare-up, and that this can make it difficult to plan his life.
“I’ve had to learn to live in the moment,” Green said. “I can’t make plans for the future because I don’t know what my health will be like.”
Despite the challenges, Green said that he is determined to live a full and active life. He is currently working on several projects, including a new TV show and a memoir.
“I’m not going to let this disease define me,” Green said. “I’m going to keep living my life to the fullest.”
