  1. While I agree, Canadians have TFSAs that can invest in crypto ETFs or miners. Tax free capital gains on what I assume are no-brain investments. If you believe BTC is going to gain in value, why wouldn’t the ETF and miners?

  2. This might have made sense 3 or 4 years ago, but given that buying bitcoin near its market price is easier than ever before, it makes more sense to just buy bitcoin and avoid the risks that come with owning stocks.

  3. Bloomberg has been posting a lot of negative articles on Bitcoin. I think if you understand what part of society and financial interests they represent, you would know why. But, this article makes a point. I’m Bitcoin only for me.

  4. Here’s why it may make sense. If you have an account (and there are tons of reasons why this may be the case) in which you can’t hold crypto directly, then owning the stocks of companies holding BTC makes a lot of sense – even more than holding GBTC or ETHE from Grayscale.

Why? Because those stocks are marginable with a 30% reserve while Grayscale trusts require 100%. You can leverage your returns on those stocks in a way you can’t by holding Grayscale trusts.

FYI: The BLOK ETF is an excellent choice if that’s a direction you’re looking to go in.
