In a blog post published on Monday, the company noted the Coinbase Wallet extension will grant users instant access to various decentralized apps (dApps) after linking their wallet accounts to the extension.
Previously, Coinbase Wallet users who engage in the DeFi space using dApps like Uniswap and Compound had to scan a QR code with their phones each time they want to access these apps.
This process takes a lot of time and can be very tedious for millions of its users. Therefore, to improve user experience, Coinbase decided to streamline the process and launch a browser extension of the Wallet.
The Coinbase Wallet extension is currently available on Google Chrome. While the new browser extension promises security and convenience, the company advises users to manage any transaction on their mobile apps to increase security levels.
Users can access various dApps including Uniswap, Compound, Aave, and NFT marketplaces like Rarible and OpenSea, using the Wallet browser extension.
Speaking on the latest launch, Coinbase Wallet lead, Sid Coelho-Prabhu said,
“We want to empower millions of more customers to engage in the exciting world of dapps and the larger crypto ecosystem. To do this, we’ll continue to take steps to provide greater ease of use and accessibility with new developments and offerings like the Coinbase Wallet extension.”
