Get ready for a double dose of Keith Urban! The country music heartthrob is gearing up to release a brand new album AND take over Las Vegas with a residency at the Fontainebleau.
In a recent interview, Keith spilled the tea on what fans can expect, and it sounds like we’re in for a treat! He also talked about his adorable daughters, Sunday and Faith, who recently stole the show on the red carpet with their mom, Nicole Kidman.
Family Man Keith
Keith beamed with pride when talking about his daughters attending Nicole’s AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony. “It was great to be able to bring our girls,” he shared, “but also the whole family… Nic’s sister and her husband and all their kids.”
Fatherhood: A Whole New Ball Game
When asked about how fatherhood has changed him, Keith admitted it’s an experience that defies description. “I continue to have a different way of looking at my parents and what they went through,” he said. “This is hard. This is not an easy thing,’ and they did a really good job, so very grateful to them.”
From Clubs to the Big Leagues
Keith’s journey to stardom wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. He shared his humble beginnings, revealing, “I grew up playing in the clubs. I quit school at 15 and I was playing five nights a week, four hours a night in a cover band.”
Brisbane Brutality: A Blessing in Disguise?
Keith credits his Aussie roots for toughening him up for the pressures of fame. “People are brutally honest there and there is no sugarcoating,” he explained. “You play a club and someone [would] come after us and go, ‘That first song you played, did you write that?’ I’m like, ‘I did write that,’ and they go, ‘That’s terrible, don’t ever play that one again!'”
“There’s something great about growing up with that. Keeps it real,” he laughed.
Vegas Bound and Ready to Rock!
Keith can’t wait to kick off his residency, “I wish it was now, actually,” he admitted. “I’ve got to wait till October.”
Well, the wait will definitely be worth it! With new music on the horizon and a Las Vegas takeover planned, Keith Urban is about to take the country music world by storm (again!) Buckle up, y’all, it’s gonna be a wild ride!
