A newly released biography on Elon Musk, aged 52, has unveiled that the prolific entrepreneur has become a father for the third time, courtesy of his former partner, Canadian musician Grimes, aged 35. The child, intriguingly named Techno Mechanicus, is affectionately referred to as “Tau.” Although the exact age and gender remain undisclosed, this revelation adds another member to Musk’s expanding family, making a total of eleven children (ten living, one deceased) from three different relationships.
Penned by journalist Walter Isaacson and set for release next week, Musk’s upcoming biography provides insights into this previously unreported addition to his family. Alongside Tau, Musk and Grimes share two other children. The former couple’s relationship, announced in May 2018, was marked by a series of ups and downs before culminating in the arrival of their first child, a son named X Æ A-12 Musk, in May 2020.
Due to California naming regulations, the child’s name was later modified to “X Æ A-Xii,” with the endearing nickname “X.” Their union faced strains when Musk relocated to Texas for business purposes in late 2020. In September 2021, Musk disclosed to Page Six that he and Grimes were in a “semi-separated” state, emphasizing their enduring affection and amicable terms.
In March 2022, Grimes shared that they had welcomed another child through surrogacy in December 2021, a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, known as “Y” for short. Vanity Fair broke the news, and Grimes updated her relationship status, describing Musk as her boyfriend with a fluid dynamic. Although she initially expressed intentions of having one or two more children with Musk, circumstances changed. Grimes later confirmed their separation, and since then, both have embarked on new chapters in their personal lives.
