In a match made in celebrity heaven, Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of grunge legends Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, has married Riley Hawk, the son of skateboarding icon Tony Hawk. The two 30-somethings tied the knot earlier this month in a private ceremony, with R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe officiating.
Cobain and Hawk have been dating for about a year and a half, and their relationship has been the talk of Hollywood ever since they went public. After all, they’re the offspring of two of the biggest stars of the ’90s.
Cobain, who is an artist and model in her own right, has been married once before, but her divorce from musician Isaiah Silva was finalized in 2017. Hawk, on the other hand, has never been married before.
Both Cobain and Hawk have spoken publicly about the challenges of growing up as the children of famous parents. In a 2019 interview with RuPaul, Cobain called herself the “OG Blue Ivy,” referring to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter. Hawk, meanwhile, has said that he felt pressure to live up to his father’s legacy, but that he’s eventually learned to embrace his own identity.
Despite their famous upbringings, Cobain and Hawk seem like a down-to-earth couple. They’re both passionate about their work, and they’re supportive of each other’s careers. We wish them all the best in their new marriage!
