“Friends” Star Matthew Perry’s Will Revealed: Trust Named After Beloved Movie Character

New details about Matthew Perry’s will shed light on his final wishes and the legacy he left behind.

Matthew Perry’s Will, Trust & Beneficiary Details Revealed

A Will with a Touch of Hollywood

Documents obtained by People magazine reveal that a significant portion of Perry’s estate will go to the “Alvy Singer Living Trust.” This unique name pays homage to Alvy Singer, the iconic character played by Woody Allen in the classic film “Annie Hall.” Perry, a known movie buff, clearly had a fondness for the character.

Taking Care of Business

The late actor appointed Lisa Ferguson and Robin Ruzan as co-executors to handle his estate. He also included his parents, John Perry and Suzanne Morrison, his half-sister Caitlin Morrison, and his ex-girlfriend Rachel Dunn as beneficiaries. Interestingly, the will explicitly states that any potential future children would not be entitled to inherit.

A Life Well-Lived

While the exact amount remains undisclosed, court documents show Perry had over $1 million in personal belongings outside of the trust. This includes “jewelry, furniture, artwork, and automobiles.” Newsweek previously reported Perry’s net worth at an estimated $120 million, with a staggering $20 million coming in annually from residuals.

Changes to the Executor Plan

According to Page Six, Robin Ruzan, Mike Myers’ ex-wife and former executive producer on “Celebrity Liar” (where Perry made an appearance in 2010), has opted out of co-executing the trust. This leaves Lisa Ferguson as the sole person handling the estate, with a court hearing scheduled for April 10th in Los Angeles.

A Tragic Loss

The news comes as a bittersweet reminder of Perry’s passing in October 2023. He was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi, and an autopsy report later revealed the cause of death to be “acute effects of ketamine,” a powerful medication.

Matthew Perry’s legacy extends far beyond his wealth. He will be remembered for his comedic genius, his captivating performances on “Friends,” and the joy he brought to fans around the world.
