I made a lightning tutorial for Breez Wallet. TLDW; seamless swaps between main chain and LN, auto channel management, ability to connect to core node, all non-custodial, zero setup. Thumbs up IMO.

  1. This is dope and lightning network needs to become the standard everywhere, like Coinbase and Cash App for example. The problem that I have, as just a normal user, is that if I buy some coins on Coinbase, and then want to send a payment using lightning, I still have to pay the transaction fees to get my coins onto the lighting network, which is exactly what I am trying to avoid in the first place. The transaction fees and wait times are the biggest problem with bitcoin for me, and lighting network can solve those problems, but only if my coins start off on the lightning network when I first buy them. I’ve tested out the lighting wallets and they are great, but they are almost useless for me until someone like coinbase or cash app can integrate it directly.

  2. (Didn’t watch it, just read your headline.) Breez also lets you route everything through your own home Lightning node. In fact, my Breez wallet has no channels to Breez’s LSP node, just one fat channel to my home C-Lightning node. Works perfectly. 👍🏻
