The Princess of Wales is back in the spotlight! After undergoing abdominal surgery in January, Kate Middleton was recently photographed riding in a car with her mother, Carole Middleton, near Windsor Castle.
The sighting comes as a welcome update for royal fans who have been eagerly awaiting news of Kate’s recovery. Though details surrounding the surgery remain private, Kensington Palace previously assured the public that the procedure was successful and the princess was expected to make a full recovery.
Looking relaxed and sporting sunglasses, Kate appeared to be in good spirits as she sat in the passenger seat of the Audi. This brief glimpse marks her first public appearance since the surgery, quashing any lingering speculation about her well-being.
Earlier attempts to pry into Kate’s recovery were met with a firm response from Kensington Palace. When rumors swirled online, a spokesperson for the palace told Us Weekly that they would only be providing “significant updates” on Kate’s health, and that the previously outlined recovery timeline remained in place.
King Charles III also underwent surgery around the same time as Kate, raising concerns for the royal family’s health. The King had an operation for an enlarged prostate, during which he was unexpectedly diagnosed with a separate, unrelated cancer.
