Months after Lisa Marie Presley’s untimely passing, her half-brother Navarone Garibaldi is shedding light on their complex relationship. In a recent Instagram Live session, Garibaldi revealed that Lisa Marie’s behavior towards him was often hurtful and destructive.
“Lisa Marie was not kind to me,” Garibaldi confessed to his viewers. “She would say awful things to me, especially after drinking alcohol.” He explained that her words had a lasting impact on their bond, preventing them from being close.
Garibaldi’s candid remarks sparked a mixed response from his followers. Some commended his honesty, while others criticized him for “trash-talking” his deceased sister.
“I’m entitled to my opinion,” Garibaldi responded to the critics. “I’m not going to lie and say I miss her. It’s strange, but I don’t miss her.”
Despite their troubled history, Garibaldi acknowledged Lisa Marie’s positive qualities, recognizing that she was “good to some people.” However, he couldn’t overlook the pain she caused him.
“She would decide to go off and tell you everything that’s wrong with you and your life,” he explained. “It was pretty destructive.”
In a previous tribute to Lisa Marie, Garibaldi expressed his hope that she had found peace alongside her father, Elvis Presley, and her son, Benjamin Keough. However, he also hinted at their strained relationship, stating, “I know the past couple years weren’t easy for you.”
Garibaldi’s willingness to share his experiences, even if they’re negative, offers a glimpse into the complex dynamics of family relationships. His openness and honesty can encourage others to confront their own difficult family dynamics, potentially fostering healing and understanding.
