Barack Obama’s half-brother, Malik, took to Twitter over the weekend to express his discontent with his famous kin. Their relationship has been strained since Barack distanced himself from Malik after assuming the presidency.
In a recent tweet, Malik referred to his brother as a “snake.” This latest jab comes on the heels of a scandal involving allegations from Barack’s former friend and biographer, who claimed Barack had confided in an ex-girlfriend about dreams involving intimate encounters with men.
Malik has been raising questions about Barack’s sexuality for years. Last year, when Barack advocated for LGBTQ-themed literature in school libraries, Malik responded by suggesting that his half-sibling might be homosexual. He stated, “This man is definitely gay,” in a now-deleted tweet. Barack had voiced support for controversial books, including one featuring explicit illustrations of gay intimacy, which drew mixed reactions.

Malik’s public criticisms continue to shed light on the complex dynamics within the Obama family. The rift between the two brothers remains evident, even as they navigate their respective paths in the public eye.
