A proposed enlargement of a Columbia County subdivision would include lots bordering a local golf course.
Euchee Creek Investors LLC owns a tract of almost 10 acres on which the company wants to construct the fifth phase of the Four Oaks subdivision in the Bartram Trail development off Columbia Road near Patriots Park.
The plan calls for the extension of Stablebridge Way into two cul-de-sacs surrounded by 16 additional lots for home sites, according to a proposed layout submitted recently to Columbia County planning officials. Each lot has a minimum size of 10,000 square feet.
Of the 16 lots, six would border the 14th hole at Bartram Trail Golf Club and two would border the 15th hole. Each golf-course lot would be separated from the course by two buffers totaling 60 feet in width.

The rest of the 10-acre parcel is bordered by forested, undeveloped land owned by the Trustees of the Bartram Trail Wilderness Trust.
Euchee Creek Investors is affiliated with Blanchard and Calhoun Real Estate. It bought 900 acres of property off Columbia Road in 1991 with the intention of constructing a golf course community with up to 750 homes.
The course was designed by Rick Robbins, a former senior designer for Jack Nicklaus Golf Services. Bartram Trail Golf Club opened in August 2005.
The Columbia County Planning Commission is scheduled to consider the plan at its next meeting June 15.
