Putin’s Flack Claims Ethnic Cleansing in Ukraine

In a bizarre and disturbing turn of events, Vladimir Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, has claimed that Russia is engaged in “ethnic cleansing” in Ukraine.

Peskov made the claim in an interview with a Russian news agency. He said that Russia is targeting ethnic Russians in Ukraine and that it is trying to “purify” the country.

“We are trying to purify Ukraine from ethnic Russians,” Peskov said. “We want to make sure that Ukraine is a pure Russian country.”

Peskov’s claims have been met with widespread outrage. Many people have accused him of lying and of promoting hatred and violence.

“This is ethnic cleansing,” one person tweeted. “Putin is trying to wipe out the Ukrainian people.”

“Peskov’s claims are disgusting and abhorrent,” another person tweeted. “He is trying to justify Putin’s war of aggression.”

It is unclear why Peskov decided to make these claims. However, it is possible that he is trying to justify Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and its targeting of Ukrainian civilians.
