  1. tldr; Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Chairman Chris Larsen are asking a judge to dismiss the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s lawsuit against them permanently. Last December, the SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple for allegedly engaging in the unlawful sales of XRP in violation of Sections 5(a) and 5(c) of the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, which relates to the registration of securities with the SEC.

  2. The exchange I use lists XRP as a quick deposit option alongside BTC and ETH. Being brand new to crypto earlier in the year I brought the min amount the exchange allows, figuring if the exchange lists it there it must be reasonably safe to invest in.

I was tempted to get rid of it after seeing hate posts on here about it. Now that tiny bag is my best performing coin at almost 10x my initial investment.

Moral of the story is that there’s always going to be someone that hates a particular crypto, and someone that shills it. There’s no harm in in listening to either but make your own decisions and stick with it.

  3. I quit posting here years ago as the hate towards xrp is unreal. Any post about XRP is down voted to oblivion and people reply by shilling nano. Tribalism here is making it very difficult and misleading for new users.

  4. Call it a draw.

The motion to dismiss was filed by XRP on Apr 12th.

I got to reading up to about page 10. Too many big words like if and the etc

But it was worth the 10 pages.

A big take away.. was XRP has been around for 8 years along with BTC and ETH and SEC didnt ring alarm bells.

Im very suspicious of the last day of SEC head when things were filed too.

I see a dismissal or settlement. Not a loss.

Kinda like the Monty Python Great Sir Knight. After getting destroyed… SEC is the knight.

Agrees.. Allright we will call it a draw then!

  5. What might be the highest that XRP might ever get to? I’m guessing by it’s nature it can’t do a Bitcoin or Eth and hit some really crazy giddy heights? But maybe $5-$10 in years to come?

  6. This is a good thing for crypto no matter what your personal feelings are about XRP and Ripple. Set the precedent now, and tell the SEC they can suck our collective dick.

Personally I’m excited for the US to realize they can’t do anything about crypto, because once that happens they’ll likely be forced to embrace it. Hoping that leads an overhaul of the tax code, because it’s currently massive bullshit.

  7. SEC are a bunch of clowns. I liked the most that in the last meeting they stepped back from saying that BTC and ETH are NOT deemed as non securities. I wonder what the basis is for them to call for dismissal.

  8. I bought 100 bucks worth a few months back. My friend wouldn’t shut up about this, so it was basically money paid for silence. He is notoriously wrong about virtually everything he has ever said or done. Whelp, guess it’s time to ride the lightning.

  9. I bought xrp on coinbase in jan not knowing my coins would be useless on the exchange. It felt awful not having control of what I do with my currency. Glad to see this good news.

  10. Even if so, don’t they still have something like 60 percent of the total coins in personal lockup? Isn’t that scary? Not hating just looking for a sensible explanation?
