  1. Connections between Russia and crypto are interesting.

Firstly the poisoned and now imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny [has received > $32 million in funding via Bitcoin](https://decrypt.co/57707/russias-opposition-leader-has-received-32-million-in-bitcoin-to-take-down-putin).

Secondly, there is an Ethereum connection. Vitalik Buterin’s father is [a big supporter of Navalny](https://laptrinhx.com/meet-the-father-of-the-father-of-ethereum-2251589598/), and it seems apparent from Vitalik’s tweets (e.g. [this recent one](https://twitter.com/vitalikbuterin/status/1341227378480058368?lang=en)) that Vitalik feels similarly.

It’s not surprising that the Russian state wants to get more control over crypto but I’m not convinced they will get any traction.
