Netflix’s new film “Scoop” is diving headfirst into the disastrous 2019 BBC interview of Prince Andrew, and the actor portraying him, Rufus Sewell, is going all in… literally! Apparently, Sewell’s own backside wasn’t quite regal enough for the role.

Gym regular Rufus revealed that he used a fake rear, as his own bum wasn’t fat enough for the scene

Say Hello to Prince Andrew’s “Special Shipment”

Yep, you read that right. To accurately portray the Duke of York in a nude scene, Sewell donned a prosthetic butt. Apparently, his regular gym routine wasn’t quite enough to match Prince Andrew’s physique. Hey, there’s a sentence we never thought we’d type!

More Than Just a Fake Fanny Pack

Sewell assures us his decision wasn’t due to any personal modesty issues. He playfully told the Radio Times, “It’s not that I’m ashamed of my own [butt]. I get it out whenever I get the chance — but this bum was specially shipped in.”

A Full Royal Makeover

The fake backside was just the tip of the iceberg for Sewell’s transformation. He spent hours in the makeup chair getting fitted with a fat suit, prosthetics for wrinkles and jowls, and even eyelid enhancements!

Mastering the “Windsor Clenched Jaw”

Nailed the look? Check. But how about the sound? Sewell also focused on perfecting Prince Andrew’s distinct voice and mannerisms, including the infamous “Windsor clenched jaw.” He even threw some shade, calling Andrew a “lad’s lad” who likes to “chat up the working girls.”

From Romantic Leads to Royal Rascals

Sewell, known for playing charming characters in films like “The Holiday” and the TV series “Victoria,” is clearly relishing this chance to disappear into a role. He said, “Ever since I left drama school, I’ve always wanted to get back to roles that allowed me to transform.”

Well, this is one transformation we certainly won’t forget! Will “Scoop” be a critical darling? Who knows, but one thing’s for sure: it’s already generating major buzz thanks to Sewell’s, ahem, royal backside. We can’t wait to see it (or rather, not see it) for ourselves!
