Seinfeld, directing his first feature film, says working with the charming Brit was a rollercoaster ride. “We had lots of fights,” Jerry confessed on “The Tonight Show.” Yikes! Apparently, Hugh lives up to his reputation of being a bit difficult. Seinfeld even called him a “pain in the a– to work with.” Ouch! Hugh, is that you?
But wait, there’s more! Jerry says things took a hilarious turn after filming wrapped. “We shot for 10 weeks, and that night that he and I had dinner – and we got drunk having dinner – that was the greatest night,” he revealed. Sounds like they bonded over some post-production cocktails!
So, what changed? Jerry gushes about Hugh’s “English thing,” his wit, and his undeniable charm. “He’s one of those guys. I love those guys,” Seinfeld admits. Looks like Hugh’s off-screen personality won Jerry over completely!

Let’s talk casting! Jerry admits Hugh wasn’t his first pick for the role of Tony the Tiger (voiced by the real Thurl Ravenscroft). But hear him out! “I imagined a frustrated Shakespearean actor who has to play this embarrassing character… and Hugh Grant is perfect for that,” Jerry explained. We can’t argue with that logic!
