Back in June, Selena Gomez sent shockwaves through the online world when she unexpectedly unfollowed a string of high-profile personalities, including Zayn Malik, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Zendaya, and Dua Lipa on Instagram. However, in an enlightening interview with Fast Company, Gomez revealed that the unfollowing of Dua Lipa was entirely accidental.
With a chuckle, Gomez shared, “It was an accident! I was just cleaning up some of my Instagram. Then somebody called me and was like, ‘What happened with Dua?!’” It turns out, it was all just a harmless oversight.
In a gesture of goodwill, Gomez went the extra mile to make it clear that there was no bad blood between them. She not only re-followed Lipa and Zendaya, but she also made a public display of support by wearing a dress from the Versace and Dua Lipa collaboration to a Rare Beauty event. Gomez captioned the Instagram post, “A little Versace/Dua moment 🦋,” to which Lipa responded with a heartwarming comment, “angeeeeeeeel!!!! 😍😍😍😍,” sealing the reconciliation.
Gomez also offered insights into her upcoming album, revealing a shift towards more uplifting tracks. “I love sad-girl music; I’m really good at that,” she confessed. “However, I can’t really write that if I’m not sad. I’ve had to relearn what being me and being happy looked like. There is not one sad song on this whole album.” Despite the positivity, Gomez emphasized the importance of authenticity, stating, “I’ve never promised anyone that I’ll never have a bad day again.”
Selena Gomez’s candidness about her journey to happiness and her dedication to maintaining open communication with her fans showcases a powerful example of embracing vulnerability in the public eye. 🌟🎤 #SelenaDuaReunion #InstagramInsights #AuthenticityMatters 🌈🎶
