  1. More imagination needed!

They should be working on how the open bitcoin ledger can be used to better introduce transparency and accountability into the public purse (known as [Glass Based Governance](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/492972/gs-16-1-distributed-ledger-technology.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwih5_D0lP_zAhVOQkEAHVk9D6AQFnoECCQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1SsZJgFk4h9R_MA79Cv-Nj))… not ordering vendors to begin accepting Bitcoin via government decree – they will find BTC (and which tech stack will best suit their unique individual needs) in their own good time.

  2. Behold the noble libertarian!

He folds immediately when his wife is insulted and then [begs for donations to support the man who insulted her!](https://i.imgur.com/UKM9jGJ.png)

He flees the district he represents and his constituents in times of crisis and then blames his children when caught doing so!

He champions the unfettered free market and then proposes regulation to force merchants to accept something other than legal tender!

  3. Yeah, require sounds bad. Require all people working in government to have a limit on assets. Everything above the limit should go directly to the treasury to offset national debt.

  4. I super agree with the sentiment behind this, but disagree with it in principle. This is like the government mandating the use of electric cars. Just leave it the fuck alone and people will switch naturally because it’s clearly superior in many aspects.

  5. Why would I in the U.S. spend bitcoin on a candy bar and create a taxable event. Should I carry a notebook with me to record my transactions at the vending machines??? How about legislation to make it a legal tender? Fuck the proposal for vending machines.

  6. There is no sector of the population this snake won’t pander to. He thinks he’s throwing a bone to the libertarian portion of his base, though I doubt he understands or truly believes in bitcoin.

He is not the guy we want as an advocate.
