Tom Cruise is known for doing his own stunts in movies, but apparently, he doesn’t want any drama off-screen either! According to a source close to the actor, his recent split from his Russian socialite girlfriend Elsina Khayrova had everything to do with her VERY outspoken ex-husband.
Remember when news broke about Tom Cruise dating Khayrova? Well, things got weird fast when her ex, billionaire diamond trader Dmitry Tsvetkov, went on a bizarre public rant about their relationship. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Tsvetkov gushed about Cruise being his “favorite actor” (awkward!), claimed to have seen “Eyes Wide Shut” 30 times (we all have our limits, right?), and even suggested Cruise play him in a movie! Yikes!
On top of the unsolicited casting call, Tsvetkov also threw shade at Cruise, warning him to “keep his eyes and wallet wide open” – not exactly a ringing endorsement for a new relationship. A source close to Cruise says his team was worried about the constant drama from Tsvetkov.
“They just didn’t want to deal with the ex-husband coming up with something nasty to say every few weeks,” the source revealed. Filming a high-octane movie like “Mission: Impossible” is stressful enough without adding international oligarch drama to the mix!
Meanwhile, Khayrova seems to be taking the breakup in stride. The 36-year-old socialite has been posting cryptic messages on Instagram about self-love and staying positive. She’s also been vacationing at a luxury hotel in Cyprus, so it seems like she’s doing alright.
So, is there a chance for a Tom and Elsina reconciliation? Our source says Khayrova is holding onto hope, but it seems like Cruise has jettisoned this relationship to avoid a future filled with international headlines and reality TV-worthy drama. Only time will tell if this is a permanent split or just a temporary pause.
In the meantime, we’ll be keeping an eye on Cruise as he continues filming “Mission: Impossible” and hoping for some smoother sailing in his love life!
