Why is no one talking about the ACTUAL news from Tesla: They run their own nodes

***”Tesla is using only internal & open source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly.”***

I mean this is what Bitcoin is actually all about! They are not only accepting Bitcoin, they are part of the Bitcoin network now, completely bypassing the legacy system and transacting directly with their customers without any third-party involved.

I know you are all happy you can buy a Tesla with Bitcoin, but I find this to be the ACTUAL huge deal.

  1. Running a node is what it’s about. That helps the network, and without those nodes Elon wouldn’t be buying Bitcoin. So big ups to anyone running a node, and I am glad to hear they are actually doing some foot work, not just spending billions of Fiat.

  2. There’s a lot of good news to unpack.

Buying a next gen car with a next gen currency.

Tesla owning their own transaction hardware.

NOT converting into fiat after sale.

  3. Every serious investor or corporation will run there own node if they hold a lot of bitcoin. So u can confirm information on the block chain without advertising what u are checking.

  4. Two thoughts:

    – if they run their own nodes, it’s not impossible that they don’t use AML/kyc software?

    – Let’s hope the names, home addresses and public Bitcoin addresses (available funds) never gets leaked! 🤞

  5. > Why is no one talking about the ACTUAL news from Tesla: They run their own nodes

Because, I’m too busy looking to see what the venue should be when they announce they are going to start mining and party! It’s coming, I’m sure SpaceX is going to start playing with this tech for inter-planetary commerce at some point, and with Starlink at their core of their business model (big up the Redding Team on today’s successful mission!) it’s only a matter of time now that this all falls into place.

All we can do it support them, I’m waiting for Elon to announce a Bitcoin-Mars spec Cybertruck only available via Bitcoin, because when he does I’m getting the first batch!

  6. I hope there is a brigade of people who come after Elon when they find out he is “part of the Bitcoin system” by running a node, and blame him for contributing to ruining the environment, and then he reveals a badass clean-energy super computer shaped like a giant middle finger that is used for processing all Tesla Bitcoin transactions

  7. Serious question: how does running their own nodes matter specifically for their tesla transactions? Wouldn’t their computers just be a part of the larger worldwide bitcoin ecosystem of transaction verification?

  8. The level of adoption is insane. It’s not just accepting Bitcoin with a third party service like Bitpay as a facade to look trendy and still get fiat payement anyway. This is truly peer to peer transaction it’s unbelievable.

  9. The China government partially banning Tesla must have hastened his distrust for politicians. Plus the advent of China Digital Yuan. Now privacy has become paramount.

  10. Yup. Any large business that transacts in bitcoin better have their own nodes. I’ve always been proud of running mine, and I don’t run a business. Feels like I’m contributing to and part of the network.
