Will other countries follow El Salvador’s lead?

Many are now urging or expecting other nations — particularly in Latin America — to sooner or later follow El Salvador’s example in making Bitcoin legal tender.

But will they?

  1. If they do it’s doubtful they’d do it the way El Salvador did. Don’t expect too many countries to basically mandate that businesses have to accept BTC. Also expect more protections for the poor and workers so it doesn’t become a virtually certain way of squeezing more wealth from the bottom to the top.
As you can probably tell, I’m bearish that the way El Salvador has implemented this is going to be seen as a net positive in 10 years.
TLDR: maybe but don’t expect it to look the same
