Country music star Jason Isbell had a close encounter with Ivanka Trump at a music festival last year, and it’s safe to say he wasn’t exactly excited about it.
In a recent social media post, Isbell revealed that he “turned and walked away” when he saw Ivanka backstage at the festival. He also described her as wearing “goofy cowgirl clothes,” and said that he was thankful that a storm came up and she left before his band went on stage.
Isbell’s post was a reply to a New York Times reporter who had shared a story about Ivanka attending Kim Kardashian’s birthday party over the weekend. Kardashian had posted a photo of herself with Ivanka on Instagram, and Isbell’s comment was a clear dig at both women.
Ran into her at a music fest the week her dad’s house got raided by the FBI. Goofy cowgirl clothes. Thank God a storm came up and she left before we went on. She walked toward me backstage- I turned and walked away. Some artists were VERY friendly with her though. We saw that. https://t.co/6wH3QwzWIf

Isbell has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump in the past, and it’s clear that he has no love for his daughter either. It’s also worth noting that Isbell’s band was performing at the festival just days after the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago, so it’s possible that he was feeling particularly hostile towards the Trumps at the time.
So, what does all this mean? Well, it’s probably safe to say that Jason Isbell and Ivanka Trump won’t be collaborating on any songs anytime soon. And it’s also probably safe to say that Isbell’s fans will be cheering him on for his bold stance against the former first daughter.
