Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson Could Be Half-Brothers, Maury Povich Offers to Conduct DNA Test

Maury Povich has offered to conduct a DNA test on Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson to confirm whether or not they are half-brothers.

The former “Maury” host made the offer in a recent video message to McConaughey, who was promoting his debut children’s picture book “Just Because” on E! News.

“We could do primetime, ‘DNA: Maury’s Back With Woody and Matthew.’ I’ll even get my showtime color back in my hair,” Povich said in the video. “Woody’s got my number. I’m ready.”

McConaughey, who has been questioning whether Harrelson is actually related to him, said in response to the clip, “I don’t know if we’re going to be calling you to do it on your show, but I like the way you’re thinking.”

McConaughey revealed earlier this year on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast that his mother had told him she “knew” Harrelson’s father, leaving the actor to wonder if they could be half-brothers.

While McConaughey believes Harrelson would be more inclined to take a DNA test, he himself is less enthusiastic about the idea.

“It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take a chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re trying to tell me my dad may not be my dad after 53 years of believing that?'” McConaughey explained. “I got a little more skin in the game.”

The possibility that McConaughey and Harrelson are half-brothers has captured the public’s imagination, and Povich’s offer to conduct a DNA test is likely to generate even more interest.

However, it is important to note that McConaughey himself is not particularly enthusiastic about the idea of taking a DNA test, and it is unclear whether he and Harrelson will ultimately decide to do so.
