Matthew McConaughey Granted Restraining Order Against Alleged Stalker


Matthew McConaughey has been granted a restraining order against a woman who he says has been stalking and harassing him for over a year.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, McConaughey claims that the woman has sent him “unhinged letters, emails, and frivolous lawsuits designed to lure [him] into court to contact [him].” He also claims that she believes they are in a relationship.

In one incident, McConaughey says that the woman showed up at his book signing event last month and had to be escorted out by security. He says that he was “concerned” that she might cause him or his fans harm.

The restraining order prohibits the woman from coming within 100 yards of McConaughey or his family. She is also prohibited from contacting him in any way.

A hearing has been scheduled for October 5 to determine whether the restraining order should be made permanent.
