Scientology Under Fire: Protesters Gather Outside Celebrity Centre to Speak Out Against Danny Masterson Coverup

In a passionate display of solidarity, protesters gathered outside the Church of Scientology’s Celebrity Centre in Hollywood over the weekend to speak out against the alleged coverup of Danny Masterson’s rapes. The actor, who was convicted of raping two women in the early 2000s in May, is currently behind bars serving a 30-year to life sentence.

Despite Masterson’s incarceration, his crimes remained at the forefront of the protesters’ minds, as they held up signs referencing the alleged coverup and chanting slogans against the church.

“Scientology rapes,” one poster read in big red letters, with Masterson’s face slapped on it. “Scientology covered up Danny Masterson’s sexual abuse,” read another.

Other protesters held up signs reading, “Scientology is dead” and “Proud SP!” SP is a term the church uses for a “Suppressive Person,” someone who goes against the church — most notably, a former member like Leah Remini, who has made it her mission to speak out against the organization.

While the demonstrators shouted, passersby stopped to take photos as cars honked and cheered in support. Police presence was also there.

A rep for Scientology tells RadarOnline.com, “The group that you are referring to was allegedly against sexual predators. One of the people in the group has a felony conviction for sexual assault of a minor. He served time for his crime. He has a long rap sheet including bank robbery and illegal possession of firearms. He came off probation in June 2023. It is all in public documents.”

However, protesters remained steadfast in their convictions, arguing that the church’s alleged coverup of Masterson’s crimes was a much more serious offense than the rap sheet of one of their members.

“Scientology is a cult that protects its own, even when they’re criminals,” one protester said. “We’re here to make sure that the world knows the truth.”

The protest is a sign of the growing anger and frustration among the public over the Church of Scientology’s alleged coverup of Masterson’s crimes. It is also a reminder that the church is not above the law, and that its members will be held accountable for their actions.
